72 percent of survey respondents reported that they had experienced abdominal pain or diarrhea in the month prior to receiving the filter. When asked if they had experienced this since they began using the filters, only 8 percent of them reported that they had.

New volunteer computing teacher, Kandy Valle, has arrived, bringing with him his generous donation of 8 laptops for the children studying here at SSF. Learning IT provides the children with the invaluable opportunity of gaining employment in a fast developing Cambodia. Previously in lessons, many students had to squeeze round one screen, but now with a total of fifteen computers, no more than two share the same computer in any one class.

80% of Cambodian populations are farmers but they don’t have enough rice fields and rainfall isn’t sufficiency for crops growing. Dry season is taken longer than wet. 57% of Kampong Speu residents are lived under poverty line that their revenue is less than one US dollar a day, according to poverty profile made by Cambodian government in 2004.

Our history

SAO SARY Foundation (SSF) was established in 2006 by a team dedicated members under initiative by the oldest son of Mr.Sao Sary with high commitment to help poorest of the poor and vulnerable families in the Cambodia's poorest communities to be better status through provision the emergency supports to their children ensuring they are properly in public schools and away from all forms of violence, exploitation and abuse in the meantime of their families are in the impoverished circumstances and to build and improving the strengthen sustainable economic for their individual families to ensure they are able to care for their children themselves in the future without upon to charity for survivals totally.

SSF is created and had high passion to do something SMART with vast impact of the impoverished people in the following attention:

1. Mr. Vichetr Uon, Executive Director and Founder of SSF has many years experience working with organizations fighting against trafficking on women and children in Cambodia through rescue, rehabilitation, reintegration and repatriation before he employed with Church World Serice Cambodia. CWS Cambodia is a bigest international organization provided Community Development services to poorest of the poor and vulnerable people and communities in Cambodia since 1979. When he worked with human trafficking organizations, he found unsuccessful work through doing so while he works at international organization he learns many succesful works that it has been accomplished with positive impact the aliveness of those vulnerable population. Through the expereinces, he combined both success and unsuccess works he expereienced to creat new innovative ideas that he understands it can positive impacts either those children or their families.

2. In Memory of Mr.SAO SARY: SARY was shot dead by unknown in his homeland in a middle night of December 1998, after he returned home back from intervention of a robbery happening in a village under his control which boundary next to his village. He was a civil servant of Kus commune's Tramkak district's Takeo province. He went never back! We can see and hear his speech just only from videotape.He was very good man in his community, He cooperated with many organizations to bring a lot of achievements for his commune. He did very good work on humanities to save extreme poor people in his controled land and sent orphans and vulnerable children to orphanages to get a better aliveness. He enjoyed to save up the people meet struggle that why his advices herwith their daily aliveness. His proverbs are "You live I live!" and "I never forget my promise!"

SSF was gone but his reputation, proverbs and every achievement made through him are remaining. So based on these facts that our team is committed to organize this foundation and follow to his rules and keeping this mission for ever!

3. With a special gratitude to Mr.SARY's western friends especially Mr.Kent Helmers, Australian, who fully support SARY family until the oldest son graduated from University of Computer Science and get a sustained job. We do something for you to repay a favor!

4. We were contacted by the friends and family of Jeff Scott to see if we could do any sort of project in his memory, and so we set out to get to know the man Jeff had become, and work in his honor. His friends and family were very generous, and invited us to come and celebrate Jeff's life with them, and then take his memory to the places he loved around the world.I have to say that by being introduced to Jeff's life of surfing, photography, friends, and family - my life has been completely changed for the better.
